Director of Knowledge Development and Application

Dr. Keisha Valdez is Director of Knowledge Development and Application at WINNOW. She is also a Senior Instructional Developer at Boston College, USA. Dr. Valdez has earned a Masters in Education from Howard University and a Doctor of Education degree at George Washington University. From 2009 to 2016 she held the post of Faculty Development Specialist/Programme Co-ordinator at The Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago. One highlight of her career is that from 2007 to 2009 she advised the leaders of a broad range of underperforming, low income, urban and rural school districts across Indiana, Connecticut and Delaware, USA on strategies for improving student outcomes using best practice approaches in school reform and school-based management. Further, as an expert in curriculum and instruction, she reviewed proposals, participated in panel interviews and made recommendations to the District of Columbia Public Charter School Board’s selection committee for the approval of proposals for innovative chartered/independent schools in Washington DC. In this latter capacity, she also provided developmental feedback reports to school developers for improving their school designs. As a co-founder of WINNOW, Dr. Valdez contributes to the high standards for research and academic rigour of the WINNOW team.
